The Church is not primarily a location, but a people who live throughout their city and do life together. They exist to make much of Jesus as both a gathered and scattered community. They seek to love their neighbors through the practice of ordinary hospitality with gospel intentionality, so that more people in their city will come to know and experience vital relationship with the risen Christ.
Grace City Church has a long term goal of establishing Missional Communities, small groups of church members who meet together regularly throughout the greater Wilmington area in order to share life and care for one another, as well as to demonstrate the gospel of Jesus to our neighbors. Until this goal is realized, we currently meet together in two contexts outside of the Sunday Night Meeting.
Family Meal: We gather once a month as families in a GCC member’s home for a big meal, conversation, song, laughter, and prayer – all which serve to bring mutual encouragement to one another.
Discipleship Group: Currently, the men gather twice per month on the 1st and 3rd Thursdays, while the ladies gather on the 2nd and 4th Mondays. DG’s break up into small groups of 3-4 and are geared toward more in-depth conversation, accountability, and taking unhurried time to listen to one another and to encourage each other as fellow believers and strugglers.
